PRESS RELEASEDUTCHESS COUNTY SHERIFF'S EMPLOYEE ASSOCIATION ENDORSES JOSEPH RUGGIERO FOR COUNTY EXECUTIVE
(October 25 2007, Wappingers Falls, New York)
On Thursday October 25th the Dutchess County Sheriff's Employee Association publicly endorsed Joseph Ruggiero for county executive. The endorsement took place at a press conference at 11:00am in front of the town of Wappinger town hall at 20 Middlebush Rd. in Wappingers Falls.
Ruggiero said, "I am honored that the hardworking men and women of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Employee Organization have recognized my commitment to law enforcement. It is my belief that good relations with law enforcement will improve the quality of life for the citizens of Dutchess County."
The Dutchess County Sheriff's Employee Association represents 270 workers in Dutchess County including 230 uniformed corrections officers. In attendance at the press conference was Todd Mikus, President of the DCSEA, as well as other membership from the organization.
"The Dutchess County Sheriff's Employee Association is proud to endorse Joseph Ruggiero for the office of county executive. It is our belief that Joe is a fair, open minded and capable manager," said Mikus. "We believe that he will improve labor relations by engaging in honest and open dialog with the organizations that represent county's workforce. We also believe that Joe will use his energy and skill for the benefit of all Dutchess County residents."
